My Phone Starts to Ring Right After My WordPress Website Is In Place

Back to the days in August 2012, I was still the one who dragged my husband to assist me editing my website. Even a tiny change, I wouldn’t be able to do it without his help. I was a completely layman in terms of website construction. It was so frustrating.

Thank God for giving me the chance to be in Oliver’s free seminar. I still remember that it was on one of Saturday afternoons in August.  I was looking for my friend and it happened that she was in a workshop about job interview which was provided by Victoria International College. Right next door Oliver was giving a presentation for his online marketing course. I sneaked in. . . 

I was amazed by Oliver’s knowledge and charisma. I was impressed by his unique personal experience. I was cheered up by his touching words. I was the one who made a quick decision to go for the course as I always believe I can also do it if others could do it. I was the one who always seeks independence and difference in life regardless of the time and the cost. I know it will pay off some day in the future.

The entire Internet marketing course (Level 1 and Level 2) is incredibly informative and practical. After the first two classes, I started to use the software Market Samurai, which was recommended by Oliver, to analyze and work out the most suitable domain name in my specific business field from the SEO perspective. Followed all the rules that I was instructed in class I finally came up with my current website domain name torontomandarinchinese.com.

I used to run a language training business in Shanghai to help foreign managers from global companies to successfully relocate in China and remove their language barriers in both work and daily life. I initially just wanted to simply repeat what I did before for different target clients here. Therefore, torontomandarinchinese.com fully reflects the keywords regarding my business.

I learned how to set up a WordPress website within a month under Mary and Oliver’s guidance. When the website was ready I started to build up links on any possible websites to bring traffic to my website. Surprisingly my phone started to ring on the day when I put ads online. I knew it started to work and I am sure it continuously works and it is working better and better.

By far we have a good amount of students learning Mandarin with us on Saturdays. What it happened to me completely beyond my expectation is my translation business.  After I obtained the license as a certified interpreter and translator I added the interpreting and translation services on my website by myself! We started to receive increasing volume of translation work from both public and private sectors. Since all the translation work can be done electronically we don’t have to spend time on commuting and we are not confined to where we are.

It’s not deniable that my website and all the online marketing strategies that I learned from the course played a powerful role to contribute to all I achieved. After I took part in the course and applied what I learned to boost my business I am clear that we do need a unique and competitive website to simply broadcast and vote for ourselves. I always appreciate my gracious and charismatic coaches Mary and Oliver as not only are they the greatest online marketing mentors that I ever met but also two of my best friends. They are always willing and ready to help me with any questions in a timely way. I miss the time that I was in their class and I love the feeling after I got cheered up.
